About IntellectSight Stale Content Scanner

Most "old content" tools look at one number: the date a post was last modified. That misses the real problem. A post edited last week can still say "Best Laptops for 2023". IntellectSight Stale Content Scanner reads the content itself and flags the specific sentences that make a page look abandoned.

What it finds

  • Old years in titles and dated year references in the text
  • Events, offers and deadlines that already happened
  • Time-sensitive phrases such as "this year" or "upcoming" in posts nobody has touched for a long time
  • Leftover shortcodes and orphaned blocks from plugins you removed
  • Internal links to unpublished content, and content that has not been reviewed for months

What editors can do

Every post gets a freshness score from 0 to 100. A report screen sorts the work queue by worst score. Editors can mark a post as reviewed without changing its public modified date, dismiss a single finding, or snooze a post for 30 days. Everything runs on your own server and the plugin never contacts an external service.

What it does

  • Freshness score (0 to 100) for every post and page
  • Report screen with filters, search, bulk actions and CSV export
  • Editor sidebar showing the exact sentence behind each finding
  • Mark as reviewed with a note, without changing the public modified date
  • Dismiss a finding as not an issue, or snooze a post for 30 days
  • Freshness column in the Posts and Pages lists, and a dashboard widget
  • Optional weekly email digest
  • Optional public "Last reviewed" line and schema.org lastReviewed data
  • WP-CLI: wp stale-content scan and wp stale-content report
  • Everything runs on your server; no external requests
